Before you narrow down your options, you should first analyze the primary purpose of obtaining such a machine. For most of the people, it’s extremely portable which makes it effortless to carry and is certainly reliable.

There are few users who might utilize it while they are commuting in order to get hold of the latest emails, news and other things which can be either work or personal related. For others, it can be an entertainment appliance since it provides a user-friendly platform to download apps, play games, listen to music and even watch movies. 2) Stand-Alone Versus A Convertible Tablet

Before we move on to the specs, we give you two choices — do you wish to opt for a standard, individual tablet or rather choose a convertible tablet?

Stand-alone tablets are those devices that take the shape of sizeable smartphones. Wherein, they comprise of a single large touch screen, a couple of buttons on the case (maybe even completely touch), and a single charging platform.

Typically, they tend to weigh about 1 to 2 pounds and are usually half an inch thick or even less. This is the reason why they’re so portable and compact. You can easily control these devices using the touch screen but if you’re in the mood to work, you can pair it up with a keyboard that’s connected via Bluetooth.

On the other hand, Convertible devices are designed to blend a tablet’s reliability with the versatility of a PC. These devices can be identified as 2-in-1 devices that provide a removable keyboard or it can be a full-size laptop that comes with a touch screen.

Detachable appear and operate similarly to stand-alone tablets but once you include a unique engineered keyboard attachment, you can employ them as capable laptop needs. There are few detachable that are offered with the keyboard, whereas other models need you to purchase the keyboard as a separate component.

What’s more, is that Microsoft’s Surface Book kicks it up a notch by introducing a great concept. This concept consists of a full-fledged laptop with a removable screen display, therefore, you can even use it as a stand-alone tablet.

3) Size

Manufacturers design tablet screen sizes that range from a maximum of 6 inches (on the low end), and up to a humongous 18.4 inches screen size on the higher end. You can observe that a majority of these tablets tend to dwell within the 7 to 10-inch range. If you wish to search for a tablet that’s lightweight and small so that you can take it anywhere you go, then we suggest taking a look at the best 4g tablets under 10000 which is listed below the article.

Tablets that come within a 10-inch range, offer an astounding balance between productivity and portability. These devices are a bit challenging to use with a single hand but they are created to be both compact and lightweight. Bigger tablets tend to lack in portability but they can always substitute similar laptop replacements.

Furthermore, notebook-tablet hybrids are built to offer screen sizes up to 11 to 13 inches. However, they are really bulky therefore they aren’t so great or effective if weight and size are your primary needs/priorities.
In addition, manufacturers have evolved from the idea of not making tabs that are sized in 7 inches or 10 inches only. Users, in this era, can now find multiple sizes available in the market such as 7-inch, 8-inch, 8.9-inch, 10-inch, and 12-inch.

If you want comfortability, easy typing and carry out effortless tasks, then you can opt for the best 4g tablets under 10000 found below. Additionally, there is a multitude of screens users can find on tablets such as Retina, LED, AMOLED, IPS, LCD etc. No matter the choice, always consider a tablet that delivers a complete HD display.

4) Operating System

A) Android

In regards to Android tablets, users have a plethora of options to consider and this applies for both hardware and software. Apparently, even though Android is identified as Google’s mobile operating system, there is no ‘complete’ or whole Android synergy. The company will try to release brand new updates to the OS every year and few of these tablets tend to get updated whereas some models don’t.

Also, a majority of the tablet producers aim to personalize Android so that they can give users the freedom to customize according to their requirements. Or maybe, even include in extra features so that they can create a unique value for their tablets and stand out from their rivals

For example, Samsung tablets are delivered with a customized interface that incorporates a multitude of apps and features that are Samsung-patented and specific. On the other hand, Amazon’s Fire tablets operate an intensive customized version of Android and label this as the Fire OS.

Coming to hardware, users can find a lot of options from companies such as Samsung, Amazon, Asus etc who aim to offer a different appeal and style than their competitors.

B) Apple

Apple has recently released the greatest and latest version when it comes to its mobile operating system i.e iOS 12. With this new system, you can expect it to power up all Apple’s contemporary-generation iPad models and even smartphones. Since it comes with advanced split-screen multitasking specs, it offers you several additions since your iPad is now exposed to add flexibility.

By the way, a user’s hardware choices are restricted with iOS than compared to Android and Windows since he/she can pick only from an Apple’s iPad line. Some of the choices involve the iPad Pro, iPad Air, iPad Air 2, iPad mini 2 and iPad mini 4. Alternatively, iOS users seem to have a platform of hundreds an even thousands of apps at their hands via the App store.

C) Windows 10

The Windows 10 is the brand new version of Windows wherein it’s constructed upon the base Microsoft created in with Windows 8 and 8.1. The new OS is seamless to utilize on a conventional PC rather than Windows 8. With this version, users have the capability to control their tablets much easier than compared to before.

Windows 10 provides you with multiple modifications and advancements to tablet users, such as user-friendly, substantial buttons and window controls. For instance, a Windows Tablet offers a Tablet Mode that extends the Start menu in order to fill up the whole screen and performs multiple touch-screen actions.

What’s intriguing about Windows is that it still continues to stick with a mouse and a keyboard since some of the features and apps can be awkward or uncomfortable to use via a touch screen. It adds weight to the fact that a lot of Windows tablets are the most flexible and convertible type than compared to its rival counterparts.

5) Connectivity

Generally, all tablets are engineered with both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity and are adequate enough to be employed in a zone that’s Wi-Fi-enabled.

These tablets even come with cellular assistance. This would allow users to insert in a SIM card and opt for a good Internet service package. There are a few tablets that bring you calling facilities. This is really beneficial for those who wish to download emails, surf the web, etc., while they are commuting or on the go, and end up in places where there are fewer chances of having a Wi-Fi network facility.

Although, the price for such tablets is really expensive. Furthermore, not every company has the Wi-Fi+cellular tab or Wi-Fi enabled technology embedded into their models. If you are under a tight budget and may only need a tablet for Wi-Fi purposes, we recommend you to switch your phone’s data to a Wi-Fi hotspot in order to develop a Wi-Fi network.

6) Camera

Before a decade or so, having a camera wasn’t an important priority for tablet producers. However, you can find the high-resolution cameras in the best 4g tablets under Rs.10,000 only. Things are evolving and changing which means that the camera optics are being upgraded and enhanced as well.

If you aim to use your very new tablet taking pictures and recording memories, then we suggest going for a model which implements the best camera since tablets are typically a one-time investment only.

7) Accessories

Changing a standard tablet into a full-blown device is not so difficult. For instance, if you want to type, you can position the tablet on a stand and pair it with a Bluetooth enabled keyboard. Currently, a few of the Windows and Android tablets offer its users with a keyboard dock. In contrast, there are even Windows laptops out there that are detachable and can be utilized as a tablet as well.

8) Weight

Tablets are built for those who are on the move and don’t seem to weigh much. This fact was previously mentioned as well. Sometimes, the weight does vary since it all depends on the display. However, it’s not as heavy as a full-fledged laptop.

9) Service

When it comes to service, we all know Apple beats the competition. If there seems to be any sort of software glitch or a production defect, then Apple’s service team will be ready to replace after undergoing some tests. You may not attain a new unit, but it certainly is an improved model since the old unit is been cleaned and upgraded. For other companies such as Samsung, they do offer pretty good services but it might not be the same for other companies.

10) How And Where Will You Use It?

A) At Home

If you wish to use a tablet for typical household use — such as checking mail, web browsing, listening to music, and many more — then many common tablets out there will do the trick. Fortunately, you don’t require fancy, higher-end tablet model to meet the usual needs so you can start looking for the best 4g tablets under 10000. Within this range, you can meet all your basic needs and avoid spending large amounts on features that are of no use to you.

B) For Work Related Needs

If you’re currently looking for a tablet that works as a laptop substitute or a business appliance then you may need a 9-inch screen tablet since it’s wide enough to see all the minor details with good clarity.

If your budget is not-so-limited, then you can select higher-end models that offer different work-related software which can be beneficial when it comes to researching and creating data for employers. These type of tablets provide keyboard attachments that are optional, useful multitasking features, and a pen-input technology which makes it extremely easy to write.

C) For children

When you consider purchasing a tablet for your kids, then there are features you may need to evaluate such as price, size, parental-control, and durability. A 7-inch tablet can be suitable for toddlers and kids since it’s small in size and once you think about the risk factor of a broken tablet, then it’s obvious that you’ll opt for a lower end model.

Models that are priced cheaply come with a compact size, rubber bumpers, a child-friendly interface, and parental controls. In addition, these type of tablets offers a two-year warranty period which means that the company will provide tablet replacements if a child performs some intensive damage.

D) For Gaming Purposes

When it comes to gaming on a tablet, Apple takes the mark as the prime choice in the mobile gaming industry. An iPad is a suitable choice. The iPad Air 2 delivers a phenomenal balance between power and portability however, it isn’t cheap as you think. You can find other suitable options as well from both Android and Windows.

In regards to convertible tablets that are Windows-based; these machines operate a complete Windows system, therefore, you can play a lot of decent resolution games just like how you would play on a regular PC system. They may not function or stand near gaming rigs in the high-end of the market, but a lot of these models are ideal for a simple, casual PC gaming experience.

E) For Multimedia Needs

Any tablet ecosystem available out there is great for watching TV shows or movies and even listening to music. Although, if you are a true media enthusiast, then higher end models may be your deal. Some higher-end models such as the best 4g tablets under 10000 tend to come with amazing Dolby Atmos speakers and even feature a sharp 2560 x 1600-pixel display.

11) Configuring Apps and Content

Apple, Android and Windows OS’s are the three most popular and widely used tablet operating systems that offer digital storefronts. Wherein, users can easily buy and download music, apps, movies and any other form of content.

When it comes to iOS, the App Store is the only genuine platform to get hold of apps for an iPad. Apple tends to ensure tight security controls over the kind of apps you’re allowed to purchase within its store. This is great since it decreases the chances of downloading applications that are seriously malicious, but at the same time, it limits the number of possibilities that can be carried out.

The iTunes Store allows its users to buy TV shows, music, and movies and at the same time give users the freedom to buy e-books from the iBooks app. Along the lines, the Music app allows users to stream their own music or even hear their own favorite tunes via the music subscription service.

In regards to Google Play, it is the only authentic one-stop platform for obtaining music, apps, and any other content in your Android tablet. Even though Android supports an open nature system, it isn’t the sole route to attain apps and other forms of content. As a matter of fact, manufacturers who produce Android tablets tend to create their own digital stores into their own products.

Moreover, a few of the Android devices ‘sideload’ an Amazon Underground Store. This platform delivers Android apps that are priced around $20,000 and in-app purchase and games that are placed in for free. You can say that this is a smaller model of Google Play since it’s curated version.

When it comes to Windows 10 tablets, you can buy music, apps, and even movies via the Windows Store. Surprisingly, you can download apps from anywhere since it’s a Windows enables device.

What’s great about Windows tablets and devices is that Microsoft vets anything included in the Play Store so all users are at a lower risk of experiencing a malware issue. Even though demanding apps are found available on all the three platforms, it’s still crucial to consider the apps’ availability. From multimedia apps to documentation apps, everything is mostly free and found available on all three platforms.

Best Tablets Under 5000 In India 2019 – Reviews & Buyer’s Guide

Yes, Smartphones do a lot of work that we would require on a day-to-day basis, but they can’t beat the large screen advantages of a tablet. Though, there are other benefits too than just the large screen. In fact, these large screen devices have replaced the PCs to a large extent. There are best tablets under 5000 that are not just technology-driven practical gadgets, but also affordable and available everywhere.

With so many brands and technical features making the tablets separate from each other, the options to select one becomes a lot. Now, if you wish to have a tablet that costs less than 5000, still you will have many variants to choose from. Multiple factors are supposed to be considered before buying the tablets under 5000.

Factors To Consider When Buying Tablets Under 5000

The nature of usage that a tablet will serve matters the most. It is one of the most primary factors that determine the kind of best tab under 5000, which you will zero-in to buy. Now the usage may range from watching movies on the go or communicating via email for business or experience gaming apps. Few even use the tablets paired with a Bluetooth keyboard as their primary work device. Yes, indeed, few tablets support that kind of technology which can withstand the demands of an extreme work environment.

The parents tend to buy the tablets for their children as well since these are good to provide educational learning through various digital tools and videos. The hoteliers and transporters also use tablets to keep an eye on their bookings as well as operations. In a way, a tablet can have multifunctional usage, but buying one that will serve the primary purpose efficiently would be the best buy.

Size is important when mobility is one of the concerns in today’s busy world. There were days when tablets were available in just two sizes, the 7-inch handy and 10-inch large. You will wonder now, who bought the latter. However, the world has advanced many steps forward regarding tablet technology, and there are a plethora of options now in size. The present-day tablet market has devices in the size range of 7-inch handy, 8-inch big, 8.9-inch bigger, 10-inch large and 12-inch giant.

Now you have to be precise on the size that you are comfortable in carrying around ‘on’ you or ‘with’ you. ‘On’ you mean, if you will hold it in your hand or keep the tablet ‘with’ you in your bag or backpack. The former is used very frequently. Hence it has to be handy and within reach at all times. The latter is used as and when needed, which means it can be kept in a bag or briefcase to be safely stored until the requirement arises.

Nonetheless, keep in mind that you should be comfortable in carrying, holding and typing on the tablet. Furthermore, there are different screen sizes and screen types, such as AMOLED, LCD, Retina, IPS, LED, etc. No matter what screen you land with, always select one with full HD.

Operating System

The iPad by Apple was the first tablet that started the market for this device category. Then followed the Android operating system, which is still going strong with most of the tablets equipped with it. However, the Windows operating system has made their mark in the tablet market too, but it is still not much chosen among the gaming and casual tablet users.

The business populace picks the Windows and iPad for their requirement, but since that is expensive; sticking to the best tablets under 5000 would be a good choice to go for. Know that the iOS of Apple iPad is a closed operating software that can’t be tweaked by the user while Apps can only be bought from the App Store of Apple.

Contrary to that the Android operating system is more of an open source platform that is available for customisation by both manufacturers and users. It means that a user may root his or her tablet to get more resources but at the same time, risk voiding the warranty. However, it is completely up to you on what kind of operating system you have used so far and what you are comfortable using.

Storage Capacity

Though tablets do a lot of work that laptops carry out, the former doesn’t have as huge storage capacity as the latter has. Now the common most storage capacity of tablets is 16 GB and twice at 32 GB. The Apple is giving 64 GB and a good 128 GB now, in comparison to its usual 32 GB that it used to give in the past. However, the Apple tablets don’t support expandable storage memory cards.

Opposite to that the Android tablets always come with card slots for expandable memory, even when their inbuilt storage capacity is 8 GB or double at16 GB. Such expandable slots for memory cards are meant to accommodate 32 GB or 64 GB or 128 GB and above removable storage. Do know that software and applications do consume must storage space of a tablet. Never go for a device that has inbuilt storage below 8 GB because more storage capacity is always better, but it also means that you will have to shell out more money too.

Connectivity Convenience

Generally, all the tablets come with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity that is perfect for doing all the things that you may need in an area that has Wi-Fi facility. Though, most of the best tab under 5000 also comes with the feature of cellular support that allows for a SIM card to be inserted and use its internet service. The calling facility can also be used in such a case. You can download emails, documents as well as upload files and do web browsing with SIM card enabled tablets.

Such models are extremely useful when you are travelling and away from Wi-Fi zones. However, such models cost a bit high than the usual, no-SIM tabs, while not every manufacturer makes Cellular & Wi-Fi or Wi-Fi tablets. Though, if you still go for a Wi-Fi-enabled tablet, then you can still turn your phone’s data to Wi-Fi hotspot, by creating a portable Wi-Fi network.

Applications or Apps

There are many apps available on almost all the platforms, but you must still check if any of the chosen apps that you want to use are there in the Tab or the Tab supports them. It could be gaming apps, documentation apps, multimedia apps, Social Media apps, Instant Messaging apps, or any other specific app for that matter. All three platforms support a lot of apps. There may be just a handful of apps that are not available on these three platforms, but you have to find out if those particular absent ones are the same that you would need.

Though a few years back no one bothered about the camera on a tablet, things have changed drastically now. The camera optics have improved because the demand by the consumers has increased. Now, if the tablet is to be used for capturing images or have a video conference with people, then it is advised to have a tab that has a good quality optical camera. Such tablets will be within the budget that you are looking for, and they would be appropriate for the requirements that you may want them for.

Yes, the weight is of significance here if you wish to carry it in your pocket or hold it in your hand. If it is heavy, then you will feel tired after some time as well as there is a fair chance of the tablet slipping out of your hands. Though, depending upon the tablet’s display, the weight varies. Hence, check the weight of the tablets under 5000.

The few things that make a tablet turn into a fully-equipped machine are the accessories. There are stands and keyboard docks for the tablets, while Bluetooth enabled accessories to make the entire experience seamless. The large screen tablets tend to work as switchable netbooks, which can be turned into the tiny laptop of sorts as well as converted into a tablet.

Service Accessibility

Once you buy a tablet, you +*might or might not require the servicing. But if you need it, then it should be convenient for you to access it. For instance, Apple will replace their entire product or part of it if there is a software glitch or manufacturing defect. Now other companies may not give such an advantage to the users, but most of them do give the warranty on their products and a good service to their consumers. However, it is always essential to have a chain of good service centres backing up the product.

The article has curated 10 Best Action Cameras in the current Indian market. While some action cameras like the GoPro series are designed for professional use and comes with a high price, there are also budget-friendly devices to record casual occasions like the wedding ceremonies, festivals, or an elephant ride in a national park. High-end series usually cater to hardcore adventures like scuba diving, snorkeling, surfing, paragliding or other such experiences.

Factors to Look for While Choosing the Best Action Camera

Durability is important if you are planning to use your action camera for adventures like diving, surfing, gliding, rock climbing or such other things. Your action camera should endure the torment of rain, snow, or underwater. Some action cameras come with the water-resistant exterior, while for others you need to buy a separate waterproof case.

Video Quality

Video resolution is a crucial factor to consider if you are concern about video and image quality. Currently, 4K resolution is available to provide the best video quality, followed by 1080p and 720p. High-end 4K action camera india come with 4K resolution. However, you need to possess a 4K TV or computer to view the 4K footage.

If you are a film buff, consider other enhanced features also like impressive zoom range, frame rate, or image-capturing capability of your action camera. Usually, 30 frames per second is an acceptable playback speed, but if you want more options while tweaking your video or still images, then go for a camera with 120fps capability. However, if your goal is just to record videos and upload it with minimal editing, then higher end action camera is not needed.

If you want to record your traveling and adventure experience, then consider buying a lightweight and compact camera for better portability. Most box-shaped action cameras are ideal for chest mounting, while bullet-shaped are preferred for helmet mounting.

Field of View

Most of these action cameras have a wide-angle field of view, while some let you pick between wide, medium or narrow. However, note that the wide-angle recording could look a bit distorted with fish-eye effect. Whereas, when you have the option to change the FOV it is easier to capture high-quality images.

Battery Life

Most action cameras offer about one to three hours of continuous use before their battery runs out. Shooting higher-resolution videos drain your battery faster, and cameras with longer battery life are expensive. If you can’t go for them, you can consider some brands that are providing spare batteries in the pack.

Look for accessories like mount, extra batteries, cables, tripods, led lights and other useful things to make a better experience with your camera. For instance, you need a proper mount to use your camera on the surfboard while surfing.

After going through the buying tips, check the following 10 Best Action Cameras to choose the one you needed most for your next adventure.

Best Drones In India 2019 – Reviews & Buyer’s Guide

Look up in the sky! Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Oh wait, it’s a drone!

These days, the Best drones in India are easily accessible and are tend to be used by mostly everyone in the region. They have become an important electronic accessory for event management companies, for the military, for delivering products from warehouses to customers who shop online (companies such as Amazon is yet to integrate this technology into their services) and many more.

In a nutshell, drones are being recognized as one of the most efficient tools in transporting, monitoring aspects and used for tracking purposes as well. If you are interested in purchasing a drone but don’t know where to start, then this review guide is the solution for you since we provide information related to multiple elements and insights within the drone realm along with the Best drones in India which can enable you to make an effective purchasing decision on an ideal drone.

Types Of Drones

The latest drones, irrespective of their type and size and type, are technical devices which are known to fly and this takes a majority of the overall hard work. Since the flight process is computerized with gyroscopes, it automatically keeps them on a levelled and straight path. In addition, drones which were developed to fly are actually easier compared to their RC cousins. There are few which can even automatically take off and land wherein, they use smart sensors which can identify the ground level so that they can gently.

A majority of the drones are quadcopters where these are helicopters which are integrated with four rotor blades that swirl in directions opposite to each other and continue to turn and move depending on the comparative rotors’ speed. There are few drones which tend to make use of more rotors (hexacopters have six) and there are some which are like aeroplanes wherein they are fixed-wing models in action.

Drones can range from palm-sized, inexpensive models to massive drones that are programmed to fly themselves and can record 4K video shots as well as have the capability of a range exceeding four miles. In between these two categories, you can find a myriad range of drones which provide you with different features. Here’s an insight on how to select the ideal drone or the best drones in India in order to assist you to take flight into the wild blue sky.

1) Casual And Toy Drones

Toy drones are listed at the way end of the bottom range due to their size and cost. These low-priced and basic drones are focused on having fun rather than focusing on instant flight. They even deliver uncomplicated controls via a smartphone app or a remote.

Due to their size, they are limited to short flight times wherein typically you can fly these devices for less than 10 minutes and even less than 5 minutes for really cheap models. They are engineered to perform multiple stunts such as midair somersaults. If these stunts are not pulled off as expected, then you can purchase spare parts such as cases and rotor blades at a relatively low price. There are few models which do include recording cameras as a novelty, however, the video quality which they tend to capture is extremely poor.

But, don’t be disheartened by the word ‘toy’. Purchasing a low-priced drone at first is an ideal way when it comes to learning how to fly it before you move ahead with faster, bigger and more costly models. Moreover, when the toy drone crashes, it doesn’t cost you much to either fix or replace it.

2) Video Drones

These drones are being designed to concentrate on recording high-quality videos rather than performing mid-air stunts. Also, these are more advanced flying units which offer an even platform for the camera (where it is either an add-on or built-in) in order to capture still images and video. The advancements of these machines relate to their heavy and large size thus would need FAA registration.

Typically, in order to ensure the steadiness of a camera, video drones have integrated gimbal – a system which can pan and tilt the camera in order to allow compensation of the drone’s motion and there is also a bolstering mechanism for the camera wherein it shields it from the vibration caused by the motors.

This system can be either an electronic system which is inbuilt into the camera or a physical system of gears and motors. Both of these types enable you to focus the camera in a direction that is not straight so that you can take classy video shots just like the ones seen on natural documentaries.

An enormous drone, however, would mean an enormous battery, and this would result in long-lasting fight times where it can fly for about 20 minutes straight from a battery which is fully charged. As a matter of fact, these batteries can be typically switched out as well, so you that you can prolong the pleasure of flight-time.

Video drones are designed to be fixable, with replacement components which are easily found. What’s more intriguing is that they are comparatively low-priced, though. Furthermore, the video quality of which these machines capture can depend and range from rough HD videos to extremely smooth pans and 4K resolution videos. If you aim to capture great quality, then it is actually worth investing in the latest models. Although, the video recorded by low-priced models is basically sufficient for a majority of the users.

These drones are created to have many purposes such as from inspecting a construction site to photographing a wedding and even documenting an exotic vacation. There are average filmmakers who are identifying new methods to create movies with them, and there is a huge number of drone film festivals that have been initiated in the former years in multiple locations in India.

In fact, these drones have topped their game and are integrated well with the innovation of the robot overlords reigning in the future: autonomous flight. Modern drones have adequate built-in features which can navigate automatically and can fly over a pre-set track using the GPS system autonomously. They can prevent from crashing by using cameras in order to detect and drive around them.

Additionally, this type of drones gives you the freedom to experiment with the idea of self-governing when it comes to flying without having direct pilot control. Yet, they still need to be registered with the FAA, and the FAA rules state that the pilot should always control the drone insight as well as take control of it anytime, manually.

3) Racing Drones

Drone racing has turned out to become significantly popular these days. Just for this sporting occasion, there are small drones which are being built manoeuvrability and speed. By using FPV (first person view) video headsets, the operator can view what the drone views, therefore guiding it around an area and competing with other drones in order to achieve the fastest lap time. The headset and controller typically enable you to capture video so that you can record highlighted moments of glory or even try to understand where things might have gone wrong after the race is over.

A majority of these drones are being developed by people themselves and not company-produced wherein these people compete by shedding the weight off and try to include more motor power, and even try to replace certain components after a crash. You can always start with a low-priced model when performing test drives. By investing in a little bit more, you can install a video headset which can make use of your smartphone as a monitor display.

If you are dead serious about racing, a drone which is ready to fly will provide you with authentic racing experience. The best drones in India offer an amazing flying experience at a long distance range and at the same time, capture stunning shots.

4) Making Use Of Your Drone

After you have considered on what type of drone is the right one for you, then it’s time soar high into the wild blue yonder. What we mean is to understand what a drone can and cannot do. You may also want to get a feel and a glimpse of how the controls seem to work.

A majority of the drones are developed with a two-control stick system, where one stick is used to climb and controls drone’s rotation, and the other stick controls the forward-back and left-right motion. Also, there are several models which use an app and offer you multiple tricks which seems to simulate a real life-like experience.

Features to Look out for in a Drone

1) Trying out the Simulator

There are few drones which come with an extremely beneficial feature: a simulator that enables users to practice flying so that they can grasp the controls before the drone takes off. During this mode, users can link the drone and controller to their smartphones and begin operating the simulator software which develops a virtual drone.

This means that you can practice and master flying with a genuine controller, however, you won’t be crashing and blighting the original drone. This makes it a great method when it comes to overcoming the controls and also getting the hang of how your drone functions before you start flying it for real.

Capturing photos and video

There are many people who fly drones for the sake of recording photos and video and try to capture them from difficult angles of which people could never reach for themselves, manually. A drone can easily climb up a hill or a cliff where you may find it difficult to do so and at the same time record both photos and video in order to reproduce the remarkable experience.

In order to capture the best out of the best, a reliable video drone should record quality video at the maximum frame rate and resolution. Try going for models which tend to capture 30fps videos at a resolution of 4096 x 2160. This is suitable if you happen to have a brand new 4K TV that you want to display to your family and friends.

2) Battery Life Expectancy: 10 – 20 Minutes

All of the drones have a single shared limitation which is none other than battery life. These drones need to carry the battery which drives the motors, therefore, the flight time of drones is restricted by the energy reserve that this battery can keep. As previously mentioned, the enormous the battery, the more energy it stores, although if the battery is heavy, then the more weight the drone may need to handle and lift.

There are batteries which support small toy drones but usually can only last between 5 and 10 minutes, and sometimes even shorter. There are a lot of bigger drones which do bring you a flight time which is relatively long but still lasts up to 20 to 25 minutes.

If you wish to fly for longer periods, then you may need to land first and change the old battery with a completely charged one which can incur extra costs as a result. Many toy drones have batteries which are built-in thus cannot be swapped out: You may need to plug the whole drone into the charger in order to recharge the battery. This can often take about three to four times much as long as the flight time itself.

There are also autonomous and video drones that provide a feature which is programmed to either try and return to a point where they took off from or land safely if the battery happens to operate at a critically low state, thus avoid a significant expensive crash to the ground. The best drones in India are being engineered to last up to a maximum of 20 minutes thus giving you sufficient time to capture and record detailed, crisp shots and videos with precision.

3) Range and Speed

The latest drones have the capability to move with powerful speeds wherein there are models which can travel at a speed of 35 miles per hour and more. Nevertheless, flying a drone is basically learning how to ride a bicycle: you need to take it slow and start learning how to balance it and gradually increase the speed over time.

Just like how bikes do come with training wheels, drones have implemented the same concept. Although, instead of using training wheels, quadcopters tend to make use of restricted flight modes which limit the speed at which a drone can either climb and fly. These modes make it effortless to understand when it comes to flying mechanics since it gives you ample amounts of time to react. To demonstrate, if your drone is flying towards a tree, having a moderate maximum speed will enable you to have more time to shift down the stick in order to slow it down. Once you start to master it, you can remove the training wheels and increase the speed of your drone to its maximum potential.

The other restriction found in a majority of the drones is the controller’s signal range. In order to ensure you have control over your drone, both you and your drone should communicate well, however radio waves tend to get interrupted over large distances. Most of the advanced drones use a home wireless network and operate around 2.4- to 5-GHz Wi-Fi signals, which is a lot compared to other radio signals.

Generally, you should consider a Wi-Fi controller and drone to operate at a maximum of 100 feet or so, nevertheless, there are few models, which are designed with huge antennas and transmitters which are even more powerful that can fully enlarge the range level.

The drone tends to work on its own once it’s outside the range limit. In fact, it can try to fly in a location and reconnect with the signal. On the other hand, there are some models which identify the signal loss and make use of a GPS in order to return back to where they took off from in order to reconnect with the signal.

Cheap drones, in contrast, will continue to hover in the direction they were heading to. This tends to happen in general when the signal gets interrupted by other powerful signals wherein the drone can start to interpret the stronger signal as the controller and keeps going. Drone pilots label this as a “flyaway”: Without any clear commands to stop, the drone continues to fly and keeps going until it crashes into something or stops when it runs out of juice.

So as we have seen a few important elements and features on a drone along with few tips and tricks, let’s review the top 10 best drones in India:

Best Intel Processors in India 2019 – Reviews & Buyer’s Guide

As small as they appear, Intel processors are crucial components of a computer. These are also known as the processor or the CPU. And yes, it is good to note that the CPU is a “component” but the entire machine is not a CPU. For non-technical people like us, processors can be found as pretty basic on the surface wherein it may not seem to hard to understand especially when it comes to buying for performance sake. However, in reality, the processors are more advanced on the inside compared to the surface.

If a processor has a much higher frequency compared to another processor, then it does not prove to show that it is a better processor at all. Actually, core counts and clock speeds can be compared accurately within the same company only. Differences, in general, can outstandingly broaden the performance gap without having the need to change anything when it comes to the clock speed or the core count.

This wide misunderstanding still subsists ever since the rise of 21st-century processors have been introduced. From then, till now, core counts and clock speeds still make a huge impact in today’s digital age. There were days where the processor reached 800 Megahertz which was certainly a noble achievement, therefore, having several processing cores is far more than awe-inspiring.

In contrast, as technologies progressed over the years, different core counts and clock speeds have been limited towards definite physical limitations. This is related primarily to both power and heat consumption only. However, these restrictions can be overcome as time progresses along with advanced developments in technologies. In addition, consumer processors are being designed with a maximum of 3 – 4GHz, whereas ‘overclockable’ processors can operate at a temporary rate of 9+GHz since it uses a solution which is temporary for the time being such as liquid nitrogen cooling.

Regardless of upgrading or constructing your own PC, the CPU has a special role to play out. Increasing the core counts and clock speeds make a great impact on the overall performance since it supports a responsive system, offers quick turnarounds on difficult and time-consuming tasks such as video transcoding and sleeker gameplay. Also, the chip you consider will determine the motherboard purchase since each CPU only operate using a certain socket with a set of chipsets.

As we move forward in this guide, you will get to know the best Intel processors in 2018 and which ideal one you should be getting to enjoy enhanced computing performances in the near future.

To start off, let’s understand the following a bit more in detail before comparing and purchasing processors:

As stated before, core counts and clock speeds are worth for something but are only applicable within the same hardware family- between members in fact. In addition, they are compared if the processors are produced within a few years of each other. Despite this, the latest and advanced processors which have the same clock speed and core count will still have incremental collations to a certain degree.

As you purchase an Intel processor in order to enhance your CPU performance, you need to use a Device Manager in order to understand the type of processor you have already integrated currently. In order to this on Windows, try typing in “device manager” in the Start menu and open “processors” so that you can know the CPU name.

Starting from the CPU name, recognize the CPU slot which your motherboard uses – thus within the same slot, you can upgrade your CPU to other CPUs. Also, it is a good idea to upgrade the BIOs as well but it depends on when the series was published. When purchasing a processor for a complete brand new PC build, then do consider the latest series from Intel. During the time of writing which is of late 2015, Intel’s current desktop architecture was Skylake. What’s intriguing about Intel’s improvements was that it was more iterative and regular.

With this in mind, let’s talk about the considerations before you purchase an Intel processor.

The Ideal Brand Of All- Intel

To all the PC-building aficionados, this statement is not so contentious: AMD chips known to be much better compared to budget builds. Regardless of the ongoing lineup age, AMD tends to charge their chips at a very competitive rate when compared to Intel’s choices. If you are that user who does not want to spend or intensively play ‘CPU-dependent’ titles, then AMD chips are more suitable since they can perform at the same level or even better compared to Intel chips which have the same selling price range.

On the other hand, what’s more, disputable is that AMD does not cross over boundaries when it comes to competing with Intel in regards to the high-end hardware. Ever since AMD introduced their processing architecture, they have not been able to introduce new and better chips in order to challenge Intel’s advanced, greatest, and the latest. Even though Intel may not have a suitable value proposal compared to AMD, but when it comes to purchasing high-end, the best option is to usually go with the current or advanced Intel’s i5 or i7 series.

If you are considering only a one-time purchase only along with no intention to enhance upgrades then AMD is a good choice for you. However, we suggest choosing Intel since even though AMD introduces new processors in the market, they will not be suitable or work well with the latest motherboards, therefore, users will need to switch completely to a brand new architecture layout and slot. When choosing AMD, you still will be keeping a comparable low limit on the performance levels even though you wish to upgrade.

At the same time, Intel happened to change only sockets, but will not develop them for at least few years ahead since this gives them the opportunity to create and develop brand new architectures which enable you to enhance your processor to its maximum limit in order to own the ideal CPU which can be compatible with the frame.

Essential Need – Play or Productivity?

AMD takes the sailing advantage in this case. Even though AMD does not perform well in few CPR-dependent titles compared to Intel processors and is priced at a low range; these chips are popular and ideal for professional and rendering applications due to the usage of cores which are low-powered of which they own.

If you wish to obtain the best in productivity levels and enhanced gaming performances, though, you may want to invest in an Intel i7. i7s can have multiple price ranges wherein you can find them at a decent price or even goes higher up to an extent. Without a doubt, these chips are exceedingly powerful chips and can be used for many purposes – no matter what you may do with your PC. To those users who wish to experience the ultimate gaming performance, then don’t bother getting an i7. The i5 does a much better job in most cases since it offers the same gaming experience and performance levels. However, an i5 can’t carry out other tasks well such as streaming or rendering.

What Do You Aim To Do with Your CPU?

Even though it may seem tempting to invest for the best as much as you can on a CPU, you are well off saving your cash for other important components. What’s more important is to determine the maximum budget levels you can invest based on what you want your computer to perform along with the processor type as well.

Normal Tasks

Try looking for a decent price range. If you wish to purchase a chip which enables you to view videos, perform simple productivity tasks such as basic spreadsheet models and word processing, and browse the Web, then getting a chip which is of an entry-level with either two or four cores might be just what you are looking for. However, if you find yourself being involved doing a lot more than one of the simple tasks mentioned above all at once, then it would be beneficial to upgrade to a better model.

An Intel Celeron is suitable since it is at the low end of the market with a good price range and you can opt for the Intel Pentium which is a high-end product in the market.

If a user is primarily intrigued towards the gaming performance, then he/she would need to look at Intel processors at a mid-level range such as the Intel Core i5. When you consider the graphics card to be the most crucial element for gaming compared to the processor, then you can save the expenditure by not getting a powerful chip.

Overclocking or Creative Media Work

If a user wishes to access a good speed or want more cores for say, video edit processing, or even just aim to have a capable, quick system with additional overhead for computing tasks in the future, then we suggest investing on a Ryzen chip, Core i7, or even the Core i9. Moreover, it is interesting to note that these are the chips of which you can consider when you wish to overclock. Although, AMD’s lower end Ryzen chips are even overclockable and even performs pretty well. The best Intel processors in 2018 do offer overclocking features which enable you to have access to amazing speed levels.

Workstation Purposes

When a user finds him/herself deals with complicated math functions and huge databases, or even patiently waiting for minutes or even hours for their current system to carry out the rendering process of their 4K or 3D animation video, then try considering an AMD Threadripper or an Intel Core X CPU. These magnificent devices provide colossal amounts of physical cores in order to carry out maximal multitasking such as editing and gaming at high settings when streaming online. Or maybe, perform time-consuming and tedious computing tasks. Users who have online or even offline businesses users can contemplate an Intel Xeon or even an AMD EPYC processor, however, these are not so consumer friendly.

Generation CPUs

As the years’ progress, Intel and AMD enhance their dedicated processor lines by using a brand new architecture. Currently, Intel’s generation is the “9th Gen Core Series,” which has a peculiar code name which is known as the “Ice Lake.” In addition, AMD’s current chips belong to its Ryzen 2000 (which is also known as the Ryzen 2) line. As you look for the model number, you can view the generation as the first integer out of the four numbers such as the 9 in Core i9-9900K or even the 2 in Ryzen 7 2700X.

It is good to note that both of the companies still do not update their advanced chips to the latest generation. Therefore, with the advanced and the best Intel X series CPUs, you can still obtain the 7th gen. For AMD users, you can obtain the advanced AMD Thread Rippers which are part of the Ryzen gen 1,000 (1 series).

Even though you have the advantage of choosing former processor generations which are still up for sale, we wouldn’t suggest you consider it unless you are okay with choosing a motherboard which is not compatible with the advanced chips in the future. Furthermore, you do not generally save a lot of money by opting for a last-generation processor, either. To give an example, during the press time, the difference of the price between a former 7th-Gen, Core i5-7400 (7th Gen) and its successor, the 8th Gen Core i5-8400 was just a dollar.

How To Read Model Numbers and Names?

The splatter of numbers and brands which make up a product name for a CPU can be perplexing. Even so, both Intel and AMD simplify a majority of their chips into three categories such as the “good, better, best” which often starts with the Core i3/Ryzen 3, and enhances up to the Core i5/Ryzen 5, and concludes (in the conventional chip realm, at least) with the Core i7/Ryzen 7. Intel has released the Core i9 which has a premium tier in the market. However, when speaking for the plethora of users, these chips are not needed and far too pricey for a majority of the users’ cost budgets.

For those users who are on a limited budget, Intel provides its Pentium and Celeron chips (although Pentium is a bit faster) whereas AMD offers its Athlon line. When comparing on the utmost high-end part of the market, you can consider the Intel’s Core X series and the AMD’s Threadripper along with the Intel Core i9 which is already mentioned above.

So what about the model numbers which succeed after 3, 5, or 7? Well, as mentioned before, the first figure signifies the product (AMD’s Ryzen 5-2600 is basically a 2nd generation processor and the Intel Core i7-8700 is the 8th generation core processor).

The other remaining numbers signify a lot of different models in the line, wherein it is known that the higher digital is generally more advanced and better since it has additional cores or even higher clocks. Also, a “K” found at last part of an Intel chip would mean that it’s available for overclocking. But, an only certain amount of mainstream Intel chips have the “K” SKUs, whereas a majority of the AMD’s Ryzen processors are even permitted for overclocking even though there is no “K” designation involved or mentioned. Having an X found at the latter end of an AMD model number interprets elevated clock speeds. The best Intel processors are part of the 8th generation and provide astounding visual experiences.

Other Questions You Might Ask

Once you have finalised the final line and price range you may wish to purchase, there are still other few things you may need to consider as well.

Clock speeds are salient compared to core numbers

Having higher clock speeds would mean that you would achieve a remarkable performance in basic, usual tasks such as gaming, whereas having additional cores will support you by ensuring time-consuming workloads are done much faster than expected.

Always try aiming for the last generation

In reality, you will not be saving a lot of money in the near future if you consider purchasing a former chip.

A full system budget

We recommend you do not obtain a powerful CPU and complement it with a weaker RAM, graphics and storage.

Overclocking isn’t meant for everyone

For a majority of the people, it does make a lot of sense to purchase an element rather than purchasing a higher-end chip in the market.

Is It Overclockable?

When overclocking a CPU, users will achieve more performance levels but will need to pay for the thermal output, possible instability in the system and the costs for higher power consumption. Also, this is definitely not recommended to those users who are inexperienced, however, it can carry out a magnificent performance if done the right way.

Is There Cooler Available?

This is mostly forgotten, but it is still very essential. If users do not want to use the water cooler, then they should consider whether if the processor comes with a cooler or not. If it doesn’t, then you should consider purchasing a cooler, and at the same time, you will need to ensure that it supports your build. A majority of the processors do actually come with a cooler in the box, however, it doesn’t harm to check it out, just to be sure. Why we state this is because if you tend to operate without using a cooler then you will end up destroying your processor.

Can It Be Upgraded?

Even though this is mentioned previously, it is safe to repeat it right now as well: if you aim to upgrade, then do not consider purchasing for now. Currently, AMD processors would not be an idle choice since you may plan on enhancing your current system to the certified Best Ever™. However, AMD still seems to have few generations ahead to go before they start changing sockets. In addition, your CPU socket will decide your futuristic path to upgrading – but do avoid purchasing processors which only succour dead CPU sockets. The best Intel processors can be versatile and open to further upgrades in the future.

Is It Necessary To Overclock?

In simple terms, Overclocking is the method of using the CPU to its maximum limits by enabling it to operate at a higher-than-expected spec clock speeds. This is surely an art form which a majority of the fanatics enjoy practising. However, if you’re not up for viewing how fast you can your chip can operate without it crashing, then overclocking isn’t worth the time and money for you.

If you do want to ensure your CPU achieves elevated clock speeds than compared to the expected rate in the box, then you may want to invest in a little extra on a motherboard which is overclocking-friendly and an upgraded cooling system. If you wish to upgrade on an Intel chip, then you may want to purchase one of its K-series processors. As you factor in all these additional costs, then you may be better off purchasing a decent priced CPU which comes with increased clock speeds right out of the box. Do remember that, even if you still obtain all the essential equipment, it is still possible to damage the CPU by over pushing it or it may even end up with less-than-impressive results.

Lastly, which should you get?: AMD or Intel

Till 2017, AMD was known as the clear underdog. However, with the introduction of Ryzen and even the Ryzen 2 (2000 series) chips, the company was able to achieve an overall performance equality with Intel. There are few users who have unyielding opinions, but if you are not inclined towards neither of the brands, then it’s okay to be open with either of the options.

For Intel, they still clasp a small lead in terms of IPC (instructions per cycle, or rather, the number of instructions a chip is able to execute within a certain time period. This makes the chips better for tasks which are lightly-threaded such as using some Adobe software, playing many games, and surfing the web. Even so, AMD still provides more threads and cores, which makes it beneficial to those users who wish to use it for professional-grade animation and video editing.

Don’t you hate the message that says that you have run out of memory on your device? Do you hate it when you are in the middle of recording the perfect moment and you get a message displaying that there is no more space? Do you hate it when your files stop downloading midway due to lack of memory? The solution is quite obvious and it is to get more memory for your device.

This would mean either changing the entire device for one with more storage. But why spend so much when the memory can be expanded in just a fraction of the total cost? You can simply go for a the best memory card in India that will expand the storage on your smartphones or camera and give you the freedom to add more files and data to your device.

Some may think that buying a memory card is quite a simple process. You would just pop in your nearest retailer or go online and specify the type and capacity that you want. However, it is quite a complicated process since there are many factors which are associated with selecting the right memory card for your device.

Many people have reported that they bought a fake memory card and after a few weeks or months, the card corrupted and all the data was lost without any scope for recovery. A memory card should be one that you do not have to worry about. Backups should not be taken with a fear of loss of data due to corruption of the card but due to the loss of the device itself.

Factors To Consider When Choosing Memory Card

Due to the heavy competition in the market and the various brands competing to offer the most in the least possible price, there has been an increased noting of the feature list on each of the memory card. While this has been beneficial for the customers, the confusion that has ensued as a result of the increased feature list has not. If you are looking for the best memory cards in 2018, there are a few things that you should look out for. They are:

Physical Size

There is a wide range of memory cards available in the market depending on the physical size of the card itself. There are larger sized cards which are compatible with devices such as cameras. Others like the microSD card are compatible with almost all the phones available in the market today.

The types of memory cards according to their physical sizes are CompactFlash (CF), Secure Digital Card (SD card), MiniSD Card, MicroSD, MultiMediaCard (MMC), Sony Memory Sticks, SmartMedia, and xD-Picture Card. Depending upon the device that you intend to use the memory card in and the compatibility of the device itself, you can choose among the above mentioned types of memory cards.

Card Format

With the various devices in the market, you will notice that there is a wide variety of card formats available as well. There is the SD card, the SDHC card, and the SDXC card. The last one uses the exFAT format of storage capacity which makes it able to store more than 32 GB of data.

However, the SD card has up to 2 GB of storage while the SDHC has storage capacity from 2 GB to 32 GB. The format of the storage is different on each one. You should check with your device and see which one is supported by it.

Storage Capacity

This is perhaps the determining factor when you decide to buy a memory card. The storage capacity on a card determines how much additional space you will be getting to store your data on your device. There are high storage capacity memory cards available; some go as high as 2 TB. However, it is not necessary that your device will support such a high storage capacity card.

For instance, there are some smartphones which support microSD cards only up to 32 GB. In that case, you cannot insert a 128 GB memory card and expect it to work. The card will simply not be compatible with your device.

Card Working Speed

Each memory card is built around the framework that determines its class. The class of a memory card ranges from Class 1 to Class 10, the higher the better. Class 10 memory cards have the highest reading and writing speeds, meaning that you will find a seamless experience of adding and viewing files.

However, you should beware of the fake memory cards that proclaim that they are Class 10 but they actually belong to the lower end of the spectrum.

Mean Time Before Failure (MTBF)

When you are buying a memory card, you want one that will work almost indefinitely until you are ready to switch to one with a higher capacity when this one is full. This is why you should always look out for the Mean Time Before Failure of the memory card.

You will not necessarily find this data on the packaging of the card. Therefore, the best place to research about it is online. The best memory cards have a considerable lifespan and great reliability.

Read/Write Cycles

When you buy a card, you will notice that there is a mention of the total number of read/write cycles that the card can endure. After the number has been surpassed, the card usually corrupts. A typical memory card can endure 10,000 cycles of reading and writing before it corrupts. When you are out choosing a memory card, look for one that has the same cycles as above or more than that.

You want your card to last long. Each time you go out to buy something electronic, do note the warranty period that the company is claiming. This will allow you to get your card fixed and the data recovered, if the card corrupts within the warranty period.

You should also check the packaging for the warranty card. Some companies claim the warranty on the outer packaging without providing a warranty card inside for claiming the said warranty.

Tolerance to Extreme Conditions

You never know what kind of a climatic condition you may find yourself in. Some days, it will be all cool and dry, the ideal weather conditions for the running of the electronic devices. However, there may arise times when you and your device may be subjected to extreme hot and humid weather.

At such a time, you should not be worried about the damage caused to your memory card and the data inside it. You should always buy memory cards which are resistant to high heat and humidity. This way, you can travel the world and not be worried about the data inside your memory card.

Card Brand

This is by far the most important thing to consider in a memory card. The brand on the card provides all the trust that you require in selecting the card. It also reflects on the build quality of the card as well as provides you the satisfaction about the information that is present on the packaging. There are some trusted and reputed brands which provide quite a typical memory card.

They do not boast of high figures since they know that the product will be tested and lying about the figures could mean a potential lawsuit against them. On the other hand, there are some companies which use made-up figures as a marketing strategy to show that their product is superior to others. This is why you should always go for a branded product since it is your data at stake.

Keeping in mind all the factors that are listed above, we have compiled a list of the best memory cards that are available in 2018. These memory cards will serve to provide you with the best possible usage and your data will be the safest within them. They are not easily prone to corruption and will continue to serve you for years. The best memory cards in 2018 are as follows:

The more features there will be, the more beautiful the headphone be, or the more battery life it will have; more the price would be. But in a budget of 2000, all the above can be achieved, if eyes and ears are kept open.

Factors To Consider When Buying Best headphones under 2000

What are the different types of headphones?

There are mainly four types of good headphones, earbuds, over-ear, on-ear and in-ear.

Earbuds: These are cheaper because they are small and usually bundled with the smartphones and Mp3/MP4 players. They nicely fit inside the user’s ear, but they don’t seal it completely. Hence, they tend to be susceptible to a severe volume of sound leakage while few find them to be bit loose fitting for their comfort. In the beginning, they are good, but after some time, the audio experience is poor to worse.

Over-ear: These are the large headphones that have cushioned pads to cover the whole ear. It makes the user more comfortable to use for longer durations, while they do deliver excellent quality of sound. However, the bulky models are not much portable, but they can indeed be used at home. Though, there are some models which fold into a compact size and come in carrying cases, which can be used when travelling around town or between cities.

On-ear: These headphones are lighter and smaller than the above over-ear kind. On-ear headphones sit right onto the ears and have leatherette or foam pads on them to give additional comfort. Few of these models are foldable, which allows them to be portable. These on-ear headphones are in the middle of over-ear and in-ear segment of headphones. The former is good-sounding yet bulky, while the latter is weak-sounding yet portable.

In-ear: These headphones are the most bought accessories and sometimes bundled with portable music systems. These are portable and lightweight, while they are cheaper than the over-ear and on-ear kinds. In-ear headphones fit snugly in the ear-canal to render a good seal to minimise the leakage of sound. Though, quality of sound is usually poor than the over-ear as well as on-ear models; especially at the bass part.

Other than these four kinds of headphones, there are also few models that are meant for specific usage. These models include the sports headphones, which have additional features to keep them safe from sweat and water while keeping them in place at the time of exercise. Such headphones have ear clips or neckbands to ensure that they don’t fall. Some latest headphones allow the user to access the voice assistant of smartphones such as Apple’s Siri or Android’s Google Assistant. Thus, enabling the user to issue hands-free commands, by just speaking into the mic.

Wireless or Cable

The question is always if you shall buy a wireless headphone? It is because they give a lot of liberty to move around, do things and not worry about the cord breaking by mistake. Today majority of wireless headphones have the Bluetooth technology, whereas some do use infrared beams that are transmitted from an infrared base station.

Bluetooth technology: It is the most common feature in the wireless headphones as well as most of the tech devices. The Bluetooth connection utilises digital radio signals to transmit the sound to a receiving device. Its range is lesser than 10 m in most devices, but the best part is that the receiving device need not be in the line-of-sight. Hence, moving around in the house is more comfortable with Bluetooth connectivity.

Infrared technology: The remote control of a TV uses the same technology, infrared headphones utilise an IR beam for sound transmission from a base unit. The range is usually 7 m while a clear line-of-sight is needed between the base unit and headphone. Thus, the user cannot wander away from the clear range of the infrared base unit. Though, infrared is excellent for watching movies or just the TV or playing music from hi-fi or MP3/MP4 when around the base unit.

Noise cancelling models

It is always tempting to cut the external noise by increasing the headphone volume, but this usually annoys people around the user as well as it can cause partial or permanent deafness. Noise cancelling model is the best solution for such a situation. Investing in such models would render the liberty to listen at lower volumes, which will not be audible to others around the user.

The battery-powered electronics and tiny microphones that are fitted inside the headphones, produce the anti-noise signals to cut the external audio. Few headphones models utilise standard batteries of AAA size, but most of the new headphones have a built-in battery that can be recharged with USB cable. However, such headphones are a bit expensive, but within reach.

In-line remote

Since headphones are connected with Smartphones or music players, for every change of media; a user has to access the device manually. It would be best to get the headphone that supports in-line remote control. Such models have the facility to skip tracks, alter volume, or stop the music. Most of these models also have a mic to make or attend to voice calls; hands-free.

The in-built battery is the trend now. They may make the headphone a bit costly, but it is hassle-free. Also, looking for a battery that takes less time to charge, but gives more standby time and play time, is the best option to go for.

Best Smartphones Under 5000 in July (Updated) – Reviews and Buyers Guide

Looking to buy a smartphone under the ₹5000 price tag? We understand that choosing the right mobile can be quite the struggle especially when on a tight budget. This is why we are here to help!

The smartphone is one of the easiest ways to access the internet. This makes it your key to the digital world but the price range can vary from cheap and affordable to very expensive. There are many high-end smartphones which provide cutting edge features like the best cameras but the price tag can be quite high. That being said, you don’t need to spend a fortune to get a basic smartphone that can cover all your needs.

Today we will look at the best smartphones under ₹5000 which provides all the essential features. This can be a first smartphone for many people or even a backup device. It also makes a good choice of smartphone for your parents or kid if you’re on a tight budget.

Buying the Best Mobile Phone Under 5000 – What to look for.

Here at NIDM we will simplify the various aspects of a smartphone like the camera, the battery, the software, etc. We will help you gain a clear understanding of what to expect and what you must look out for when buying the best smartphone under 5000 in India.

1) Display

Your smartphone’s display is one of the most important parts of the device. The screen plays a key role in the overall user experience which is why you should choose a smartphone with a good display. High end displays like AMOLED Panels offer deep blacks and vibrant colours. AMOLED provides the best quality but costs higher to produce. This is why it is only available on smartphones with a high price tag.

Luckily, display technology in smartphones has come a long way and one can now expect a good 5 – 5.5inch display for phones under ₹5000. The panel used can be LCD or TFT and both produce good colours and good viewing angles. LCD Panels with IPS technology provide superior viewing angles but are available only on some models in this price range.

Another important aspect is the screen’s resolution. The higher this is, the sharper things like images and text will appear on your device. You can expect a 720p display which will provide you with a clear viewing experience.

The latest devices on the market can also sport a taller screen with a 18:9 aspect ratio instead of the traditional 16:9. This gives you a larger screen while keeping the phone compact so it is easy to hold.

2) Protection

The materials used on the construction of a smartphone play a key role in how well it can survive an accidental drop. Devices made with aluminium has a higher chance of surviving a drop than ones made with glass. Both materials however, are more expensive to manufacture and are only available on devices in a higher price range.

Plastic is not as sturdy as aluminium but more durable than glass. You will find that most phones under the 5000 price tag use plastic for most of their construction besides the screen which is glass because it helps keep the costs low. The screen on most models will also not have any special protection like Corning Gorilla Glass to keep costs low. This is why we recommend applying a screen protector and a case for devices under 5K.

While you can’t expect special protection features, most devices in this price range will be able to handle regular daily use without any issues.

3) Camera

A smartphone helps you capture special moments in life so choosing one with a good camera is important. Some features like dual cameras, optical image stabilization etc. will not be available in the 5000 range. Most phones on the market offer a single rear camera that’s 8 – 13 Megapixels.

While these phones are not meant for photography, you can still get fairly clear shots as long as there is plenty of light. Basic features like Auto Focus, Digital Zoom and HDR will also be present. Low light photography should be avoided as photos taken in low light and dark areas would be much lower in quality. The flash at the back will be good for lighting up some objects but not a large area.

The front camera can range from 2 – 5 Megapixels. This can be used for taking very basic photos and video calling. If you are a selfie lover then you may want to increase your budget for devices with a better front camera.

4) Processor (System on a chip) SoC

The processor (CPU) is the brain of any smartphone. This part is responsible for making everything you do on your smartphone possible. From something as simple as making a call to using an app or a game it’s the processor doing all the work behind the scene.

There are many processors in the market right now. Some phones have processors which are designed to handle most basic tasks. While others like the processors found in flagship grade phones aim to offer the best cutting-edge performance.

Some examples of processors include Qualcomm’s Snapdragon lineup, Samsung’s Exynos and MediaTek’s MT series. You can expect a basic processor from Qualcomm or MediaTek in smartphones under the 5000 range. This can be a quad core chip with a speed of 1 – 1.5ghz.

These devices are good for most daily tasks such as browsing the web, calling, WhatsApp, etc. The performance for basic things will be smooth and you will not face any heavy lag or stuttering. That said, if you try heavy apps and games then you fill face a lot of slowdowns as the processor struggles to keep up.

5) RAM & GPU

Apps, games and all other data is stored in your phone’s internal memory. While this is ideal for storing data, it is too slow when you need to access data quickly like going through many apps. This is why your phone uses RAM or Random-Access Memory which is much faster than the internal memory for all its operational tasks.

The RAM is responsible for how well you can multi task. It stores things like apps so you can open them quickly. The higher the RAM the lesser need there is for the phone to load the app again from the slow internal storage.

Most phones in this price range will offer 1GB or 2GB as the RAM amount. 1GB would be sufficient for using one app at once and basic tasks but not for multi-tasking. If you want to use more than one app at once then at least 2GB would be necessary.

When it comes to gaming you can play simple games like temple run or subway surfers. Although, games like Asphalt 8 or PUBG will either face massive slowdowns or will not run at all. This is because the GPU or Graphics Processing Unit in these phones is only meant for simple low graphic games.

6) Storage

You may think that you don’t need a lot of storage but we recommend going with at least 16GB of internal memory. It is important to consider that some of the storage will already be used by the phone’s operating system. This can be as high as 50% used out of the box. Apps are also getting increasingly larger with every new update.

You can expect 8GB or 16GB storage in this price range. 8GB is sufficient only if you don’t plan to install many apps on your phone. This is if you need the device mainly for just calls and messaging. If you wish to store more media like videos then you can opt for a phone with a MicroSD slot. This can be expandable up to 64GB or 128GB.

It is also important to note that some phones don’t support moving apps to the SD card. Some apps also work only in the internal storage. Even when an app is moved to the SD card there will still be some internal storage used by the app. This is why adding a SD card will not always mean that you can install too many more apps.

7) Battery

It doesn’t matter how good a smartphone is if the battery can’t last at least a day of normal use. The battery capacity is generally shown in mAh units. You should expect 2000-3000mAh capacity for most phones under 5K. Some devices do offer battery capacities as high as 4000+ mAh making them great for battery life.

The battery technology that is used in this price range is mainly Li-Ion which provides good performance. Some models may have a Li-Polymer battery which are thinner but these are more expensive to manufacture.

Most devices in the market right now come with a sealed non removable battery. However, there still are some models which may provide a removable battery.

8) Ports & Wireless communications

Access to fast internet has been spreading rapidly throughout the country thanks to 4G LTE. All devices in this price range will support for 4G LTE. You can also expect dual sim support although not all phones will support 4G on both SIMs.

You can also expect all basic wireless features such as Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth. Some features like NFC and Wireless charging are only available on high end devices so those will not be available.

For wired connections most devices in the mid to high range come with Type C ports. However, budget devices under 5000 still have the older MicroUSB 2.0 port. This is not a major drawback as it helps keep the costs low.

Since the manufacturers don’t need to make these devices too slim, they keep the 3.5mm jack. Most devices in this price range will come with the 3.5mm headphone jack.

9) Speakers & Sensors

Audio quality on your smartphone is not only important for listening to music but also making sure you hear calls clearly. If the speaker is not loud then you may miss calls when in a noisy environment. Some special features like dual speakers provide wider stereo sound but is only available on a few models.

Smartphones in this range are not designed for audio quality through speakers. That said, you can expect the devices to be loud enough to hear the device in most environments. The vibration motor is also present.

Sensors are another important aspect of your phone’s user experience. While you can’t expect to get all the sensors, the 2 basic sensors should be covered. The proximity sensor allows your phone’s screen to turn off when you place it to your ear. The accelerometer makes motion sensing possible for things like gaming and auto rotate.

10) Software

Hardware specs are very important but can be considered only half the deciding factor when it comes to user experience. The second half is – The Software. While all devices in this price range run Android, which version and custom UI it has can make a big difference. Even the fastest hardware will struggle to run smoothly if the software is poorly optimized.

The latest version of Android is 9.0 Pie and you should expect a device that runs on 9.0 Pie or at the very least 8.1 Oreo. Some devices may also have the “Go Edition” of Android which is designed to use less space for low end devices.

The cleanest version of Android is called “Stock Android”. This sometimes does not have many extra features but is the fastest and easiest to use.

A Custom UI is the manufacturers take on Android to make it more unique. Manufacturers add things like special apps and features that you will not find on Stock Android. But sometimes too many preinstalled apps and unnecessary features can also slow down the phone.

Now that we have covered all the important aspects of a smartphone let’s take a look our picks for the 10 best smartphones under 5k. This list is specially curated to help you pick the device that suits you best.

Top 10 Best Smartphones under 5000

1) XOLO ERA 4X (2GB+16GB)

XOLO is an Indian mobile company which has been offering smartphones for many years now. While their devices lack behind the competition in the mid to high range, they have some compelling offers in the ultra-budget range.

One of their newest offerings – The XOLO ERA 4X sports a 5.45 IPS 18:9 HD+ Display with Corning® Gorilla® Glass protection. For the price tag this is one of the best screens in the budget market.

On the front we also see a 5MP selfie camera with a front LED flash. The quality is good only for the most basic selfies taken in a very well-lit environment. There is no fingerprint sensor but the device supports face unlock.

On the back there’s an 8MP camera with support for features like Beauty mode, HDR etc. This performs much better than its selfie counterpart. That said, low light photography is still one of the weakest aspects of this camera.

Powering up the phone is a MediaTek MT6739 1.5ghz Quad Core processor. This will run most basic apps with ease as long as you don’t try intensive games. There is support for 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS.  Essential sensors like the accelerometer, proximity and light sensor are also present.

The device runs on Android 8.1 Oreo Go Edition with the Star OS V5.0 interface. While the device doesn’t lag, we wish that XOLO would have opted for a completely stock interface. Star OS V5.0 has some useful features but there is also some unnecessary bloatware that could be removed.

Battery life is good for a day’s use with a 3000mAh unit. You also get the 3.5mm headphone jack and a MicroSD card. The USB port is MicroUSB 2.0 and not Type-C but that is normal for this price range.

2) Nokia 1 (1GB+8GB)

The Nokia 1 is one of the cheapest android devices in India. While the hardware is underpowered when compared to the competition, the device excels on the software side. The device launched with Android 8.1 Oreo Go Edition but has been updated to Android 9.0 Pie Go Edition. Nokia has also kept the device free from unnecessary apps and bloatware.

The screen is a small 4.5inch IPS LCD Display with a low 480p resolution. This is easily one of the biggest drawbacks of the device but the small size also helps make the device very compact. This can be a benefit if you want a phone that is easy for one handed use.

The device is made of plastic but is built fairly well and has a removable battery. The battery capacity is only 2150mAh but since the screen is small it also uses less power. This helps the device last at least a day of light to normal use. It also supports 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and even FM Radio. Nokia has also retained the headphone jack and the USB port is Micro USB 2.0.

The MediaTek MT6737M is 1.1ghz Quad Core processor that can handle basic apps but that’s about it. You can also do some basic gaming but nothing with high graphics.  The RAM is also only 1GB but it manages to stay smooth for most basic tasks.

The cameras are as basic as it gets with a 5MP rear unit and a 2MP selfie unit. The storage is also only 8GB but you do get MicroSD support. The Nokia 1 is not meant for heavy users. This device makes a great choice if you need an ultra affordable compact smartphone for basic tasks with up to date software.

3) Micromax BHARAT5 Infinity Edition (1GB+16GB)

The BHARAT5 Infinity Edition from Micromax is a battery champ. The device rocks a 5000mAh battery to make frequent low battery warnings a thing of the past. The device has a clean design but it a bit bulky due to the large battery. It also offers a fingerprint sensor on the back.

The display has a modern 18:9 ratio. It’s a 5.45inch IPS LCD panel and has a 720p resolution. The quality is on par with other devices in this range.

At its core lies the MediaTek MT6739 1.5ghz Quad core processor. The performance is fairly good for most basic apps. You can also expect to do some basic gaming. Although, since the RAM is only 1GB you can’t expect anything intensive. The internal memory is 16GB.

The camera offering is weak with just a 5MP sensor at the back and a 5MP sensor in front. You can expect only very basic photos but the device does offer a front facing LED flash for selfies.

The software side is kept simple with Android 8.1 Oreo but there is some bloatware. Most wireless essentials are covered with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and Radio. There is a MicroUSB 2.0 port and the accelerometer and proximity sensor.

While the specs are mediocre and the cameras are basic, this a good option if battery life is your priority.

Best Smartphones Under 30000 in July (Updated) – Buyers Guide

Looking for a mobile phone that has most of the premium features you want without a crazy high price tag? The 25,000 – 30,000 price range is a great place to get started! The smartphones in this range offer many premium features ranging from high end performance to modern pop up selfie cameras. The features may not be the most cutting edge but you can still save a lot when compared to a current-gen flagship while still getting a complete package.

Today we will look at the best smartphones in this range which offer premium features without making any compromises. This includes the likes of last year’s best smartphone – the OnePlus 6T to new launches like the Honor View20.

Buying the Best Phone under 30000 – What to look for

Here at NIDM we will simplify the various aspects of a smartphone like the camera, the battery, the software, etc. We will help you gain a clear understanding of what to expect and what you must look out for when buying the best smartphone under 30000 in India.

1) Display

A display covers 70-80% of a modern smartphone and is the main method of how you interact with it. This makes it one of the most important parts of a smartphone that you should consider when making a purchase. The main aspects of a display are its size, screen type and resolution.

Screen size: Most smartphones under 30k offer a display size of 5.8-6.4inches. This when coupled with the modern 18:9 or 19:9 aspect ratio results in a phone that is easy to hold but still provides a large screen. In order to have an 80%+ screen-to-body ratio the device is likely to have a notch on top.

Screen type: There are many screen types but the most common in this price range will be an IPS LCD display. Some smartphones may have an AMOLED display as well. IPS LCD panels are well known for their viewing angels and cheaper costs. AMOLED panels provide superior colour and contrast when compared to LCDs but also cost higher.

Screen resolution: The display resolution decides how many pixels appear on a screen. The more pixels there are the sharper objects can look. 1080p (Full HD) is the most common resolution in this range and offers sharp clarity.

2) Protection

Smartphones are expensive and fragile pieces of technology. You don’t want to spend 30,000 on a smartphone that gets scratches easily. Luckily, there are many durability features packed into a modern smartphone. This includes scratch resistance, waterproofing, build quality etc.

Scratch resistance: Devices that have Corning Gorilla Glass protection have screens which are resistant to scratches. There are also other glass manufacturers besides Corning which also provide scratch resistance screens.

All smartphones in this range should be expected to have at least some form of scratch resistance.

Build Quality: Smartphones are built with many different materials. Some are fully plastic while others have a mix of aluminum and glass. In the 30k range you can expect glass or aluminum + glass combination resulting in a sturdy premium feeling device.

Waterproof: Water is a major threat for electronics and this is especially true for devices that are on us at all times like a smartphone. To solve this problem some devices are water-resistant or waterproof to a certain limit.

However, waterproofing is only available in top tier devices and will not be available on smartphones under 30,000.

3) Camera

Smartphones provide the easiest form of photography by putting a powerful camera on a device that fits inside your pocket.

While cutting edge camera features are only available on high end current gen flagships, you can still expect good performance in this range. The main aspects to consider are the rear cameras, front cameras and extra features.

Rear Cameras: The rear cameras are the main shooters of your smartphone. You can expect a dual camera system ranging between 16-20MP. Some may offer even high megapixel count.

Front Cameras: The front camera is very important for selfie lovers. You can expect an 8-20MP camera while some selfie focused phones may be even better.

Extra features: There are many features that can improve your smartphone photography experience. Devices under 30k offer features like HDR support, AI Filters, Panorama, Beauty mode etc. Some secondary lenses may offer features like ultrawide, low light mode.

Some features such as Optical Image Stabilization will not be available on most devices in this range with a few exceptions.

4) Processor (System on a chip) SoC

At the core of your smartphone lies its Processor (CPU). This chip is responsible to make everything you do on your smartphone possible. You can see it as the brain of the device. The processor plays a key role in how fast your smartphone operates.

Processor type:  Most smartphones in this range offer a processor from companies like Qualcomm, MediaTek, Exynos or Kirin. If the device of choice is an iPhone then it will be running on Apple’s A series.

Cores: You can expect an octa-core (8 cores) processor for this price point. This means these processors will be highly efficient.

Speed frequency: While more cores can mean more efficiency, the performance is generally differentiated by the speed at which the cores run at. Processors that offer 2-2.5ghz speed can handle most apps with ease.

Expected performance in 30K: Performance on phones under 30k can vary widely. This is because some devices offer powerful processors for the price while others may opt for a slower one to provide other features.

That said, all devices in this range will run most apps and games without any slowdowns and lag.

5) RAM & GPU

As we explained above, the processor is one of the main parts that decide the performance of your device. However, there are some other aspects that can be a deciding factor in how well your smartphone performs. These are mainly the RAM (Random Access Memory) and the GPU (Graphics Processing Unit).

RAM: Your processor requires a fast set of memory to store data like apps and the internal storage just can’t cut it. This is why your smartphone uses RAM which is extremely fast which makes switching through apps and multi-tasking possible.

Most smartphones under 30K have at least 4GB of RAM. This means there is plenty of room for multi-tasking. Some devices also offer 6GB RAM or more.

GPU: As the name suggests, the Graphics Processing Unit is responsible for all the graphics that your smartphone can show. This can range from simple animations to full 3D graphics on games.

This makes the GPU the most important part if you want a smartphone for gaming. In this price you can expect to play all games on medium settings. Some devices will be able to play games like PubG on high settings as well.

6) Storage

We all love to take photos and videos especially on smartphones with great cameras. Apps are also a great way to be productive, entertained and stay in touch. All this data however, can quickly take up a lot of space which makes storage an important factor when deciding on a smartphone.

Storage amount: Choosing a smartphone with a good amount of storage is important. Consider that the Operating System of your smartphone already reserves some space and can take up as much as 10-15GB.

Apps and games are also getting increasingly larger which can take up even more storage than expected. Smartphones in this range should have at least 64GB storage which provides enough amount for most apps and data.

Expandability:  If you want to store a lot of media then you should consider a phone that has a microSD slot. This allows you to easily expand the storage of your phone whenever you want.

7) Battery

Powering up your smartphone is its battery. You want a device that can last through a day without the low battery warning that nobody likes. The main aspects of a smartphone’s battery life are the battery capacity and the charging speed.

Battery capacity: Most devices under 30k will offer a 3000-4000mAh battery. This will provide enough capacity for a day’s use so you wouldn’t need to charge before the day ends.

Charging speed: While battery capacity is important, you don’t want to wait for ages for your smartphone to be fully charged. This is why most smartphones in this range support some form of fast charging such as Qualcomm’s Quick Charge.

8) Ports & Wireless Communications

In this modern age the wireless communication features that you phone supports are as important as its camera or gaming capability. This includes essentials such as 4G LTE, Wi-Fi to extras like NFC and Wireless charging.

Wireless comms: Smartphones in this range cover mostly all essential wireless features. This includes Bluetooth 5.0, Dual band Wi-Fi etc. Some devices however, may not have support for NFC, Wireless charging and FM Radio.

Ports: There are two main ports on a smartphone, the first is the USB port for charging and data transfers. The second is a 3.5mm jack for using a pair of wired earphones or headphones. Devices in this range have a Type-C port but some may skip on the earphone jack.

9) Speakers & Sensors

Often ignored but still important are the speakers and sensors on a smartphone. These play a key role on the overall experience of using your smartphone and also for media consumption.

Speakers: Having good speakers on your smartphone can be quite useful not only for calls but also for media consumption. Hearing your phone can be difficult in a noisy environment during traffic which can lead to missed calls if the speakers not loud.

Similarly, watching movies or YouTube also be a problem if you can’t clearly listen to the audio. Some devices offer dual speaker systems for even better sound but most devices in the range will have only one loud speaker.

Sensors: The sensors on your device make many features possible. For example, the accelerometer meter makes auto rotate possible while the light sensor can brighten your screen in sunlight and dim it when dark.

You can expect a device in this range to support all essential sensors.

10) Software

The hardware quality of your smartphone decides how well it can perform and what it can do. However, the software is what makes it possible to interact with the hardware. This means, the software is an important factor in how your device operates and the features it has.

Operating System: The main piece of software that runs your device is its Operating System or OS. This is usually Android for all smartphones except for iPhones which run on iOS.

On the Android side, you should expect most devices to be running on Android 9.0 which is the latest in 2019. The device manufacturers although, may add their own features and skins on top of Android resulting in their own Custom UI.

Custom Interfaces: Most common custom UIs are Xiaomi’s MIUI, OnePlus’s Oxygen OS and Huawei or Honor’s EMUI. These offer extra features and preinstalled apps by the manufacturer which can enhance your user experience. This does not apply to iPhones as they only run iOS designed by Apple.

In some cases, however, features and apps that are unnecessary can slow down a device which is why some people may want a device that has stock Android.

Devices that have stock Android have no unnecessary features and apps that result in a clean and simple user experience.

Now that you are aware of all the various aspects of a smartphone it’s time to pick one. We have curated a list of the best 10 smartphones under 30,000 in 2019. This will help you choose the device that suits you best.

Top 10 Best Smartphones under 30000

1) OnePlus 6T (8GB+128GB)

OnePlus recently launched new 7 and 7 Pro smartphones which has made the OnePlus 6T cheaper than ever. With its Snapdragon 845 and 8GB of RAM this device is one of the fastest in this price range. This comes as no surprise as the device is also considered one of the smoothest Androids available.

Built with an aluminium frame and glass on the front and back the 6T impresses with its build quality. There is also Corning Gorilla Glass 6 present for protection.

The 6T rocks a 6.41inch Optic AMOLED display with DCI-P3 coverage and 1080×2340 resolution. This is easily one of the best displays you can get especially in the 30k price point. The device runs on Oxygen OS based on Android 9.0 Pie.

There is no microSD slot on this smartphone but with 128GB internal storage you have enough space for all your needs.

Cameras aren’t OnePlus’s strong suite but the 6T does not disappoint. The rear has a 16+20MP dual camera unit with OIS and Dual LED flash. The front is a 16MP selfie shooter.

OnePlus has packed in all essential wireless features except for FM Radio. There is also no 3.5mm earphone jack. The fingerprint sensor is in-screen and on the bottom there’s a USB 2.0 Type-C port.

The 3700mAh battery is on smaller than some of the competition but OxygenOS is highly efficient giving the device an excellent endurance.

What we loved: Powerful specs, Great software.

What we disliked: No 3.5mm earphone jack.

2) Honor View20 (6GB+128GB)

The View20 is as close as it gets to a modern flagship in this price range. Honor has packed in most of the latest cutting-edge features and is one of the first devices in this range to feature a hole punch notch.

The device has an aluminium frame and is sandwiched between glass on the front and back. For such a premium feeling device we were disappointed to see the lack of Corning Gorilla Glass protection.

The display is an impressive IPS LCD panel that is 6.4inches and has a resolution of 1080×2310. The device launched with Magic UI 2 based on Android 9.0 Pie.

The View20 performs admirably with the Kirin 980 under the hood which is coupled with 6GB of RAM and the MALI-G76 MP10 GPU. 128GB of internal storage means there is plenty of space however, the device doesn’t support SD cards.

Honor impresses us with its 48MP main camera and a TOF 3D secondary sensor at the back. The TOF sensor can help separate people from the background and is can also be used in some 3D AR games.

The front has a 25MP selfie camera which is located in a tiny hole punch notch on the top left of the screen.

Honor ticks all the boxes for wireless communications and has all necessary sensors including the rear mounted fingerprint reader. There is no FM radio support. The device has a Type-C port at the bottom which is USB 3.1 which should provide faster data transfer speeds.

The View20 is powered by a 4000mAh battery with fast charge support which means the device should easily last through a day.

What we loved: Stunning design, Plenty of storage, Powerful specs.

What we disliked: Magic UI 2 still has a lot of bloatware, Lacks Gorilla Glass protection.

3) iPhone 6S (2GB+32GB)

The iPhone 6S is a four year old smartphone at this point, which begs the question – why is it still sold?

In true Apple fashion they have kept the iPhone 6S up to date with the latest and greatest iOS 12. The device runs as smooth as most modern smartphones thanks to Apple’s excellent optimization.

Where the device does feel dated is its 4.7inch IPS LCD display with a 750×1334 resolution. This screen is quite small but as an advantage it also results in the device being quite easy to hold. It also supports 3D Touch.

Keeping the 6S running is the Apple A9 dual core processor with 2GB RAM. This is quite under powered even for an iPhone at this point. That said, the device can handle most apps without problem.

The bigger problem however, is its tiny 32GB storage. This limits you to using just the essential apps you need with all other data being moved to cloud storage.

Apple has a strong reputation for its cameras and even in 2019 the single 12MP rear camera on the 6S manages to provide clear shots. The same can’t be said for 5MP selfie camera however, it gets the job done.

The 6S has all the wireless features you would expect. There is also a 3.5mm earphone jack and a lightning USB port. The fingerprint sensor is mounted inside the home button. No FM radio present here.

The 1715mAh battery that powers the iPhone 6S is quite small. This device can last through a day of low to moderate use but don’t expect it to be a battery champ.

What we loved: Cheapest way into Apple’s ecosystem, Smooth interface.

What we disliked: Small display, Mediocre battery life.

4) LG G7 ThinQ (4GB+64GB)

The G7 ThinQ is LG’s 2018 flagship with all the high-end features that you would expect.

The device has an impressive build quality with a front/back glass and an aluminium frame. There is Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection with IP68 dust/water proof rating. The G7 ThinQ is also MIL-STD-810G compliant.

The front sports a 6.1inch IPS LCD panel with 1440×3120 resolution. The display has DCI-P3 100% coverage, HDR 10 and Dolby Vision. LG launched it with Android 8.0 Oreo but has been updated to Android 9.0 Pie.

LG’s own custom skin is one of the biggest drawbacks on this relatively powerful device with its Snapdragon 845. There is 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. There is support for microSD as well.

On the camera side the G7 ThinQ sports a dual camera setup at the back with a 16+16MP array. There is support for OIS and ultrawide. The front has a basic 8MP selfie shooter.

LG has made no cut offs in the wireless department and the device even has a headphone jack. The fingerprint sensor is rear-mounted and the bottom has a USB 3.1 Type-C connector.

The 3000mAh battery coupled with LG’s bloated UI means this device won’t break any battery life records. That said, it can last through a day’s normal use.

What we loved: Waterproofing, 1440p display with HDR 10 support.

What we disliked: LG’s UI needs improvements.

5) Nokia 8.1 (6GB+128GB)

The Nokia 8.1 is the only device in this list that runs on Google’s Android One program. This provides a clean and simple user experience with frequent software updates.

The device features an aluminium frame with glass on the front and back that has NEG protection.

The notch is quite large on this 6.18inch IPS LCD display that has a resolution of 1080×2280. Nokia launched it with Android 9.0 Pie under the hood.

Powering up the Nokia 8.1 is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710. While this is not as powerful as some other devices, the 710 is no slouch either. With 6GB RAM and 128GB this device can perform all but the most intensive tasks with ease. There is also microSD support.

The cameras on this Nokia aren’t particularly impressive with its 12MP+13MP Dual camera setup. That said, these are Zeiss optics and there is support for OIS and dual-LED dual-tone flash. The front has a 20MP selfie camera.

Nokia also hasn’t skipped on any essential wireless features. The device also keeps the 3.5mm earphone jack and has a USB 2.0 Type-C connector at the bottom. The fingerprint sensor is mounted at the back.

The 3500mAh battery powering the Nokia 8.1 may be on the smaller side but the software is well optimized giving the device a fairly good battery life.

What we loved: Android One, Good build quality.

What we disliked: Fairly large notch, Cameras could be better.
